It's a very spooky Spirit Day here- Orange & Black Festive wear is welcome (no full costumes, masks or face paint)!  This afternoon our 8th grade girls basketball team welcomes Euclid, while wrestling practices and Jazz Band meets.  Have a very Happy Halloween Pumas!

We kick off Spirit Week with Jersey Day- show your support for your favorite sports team today!  After school, you can show your support for our 7th grade girls basketball team as they welcome Newton, or you can head over to Newton to support our 6th graders at their first wrestling festival.  Chess Club meets today, however Rocket Club is cancelled.  Go team Powell!

We have a thoroughly fun Thursday here, starting with this month's PTO meeting at 9:15, then moving on to our after school activities: Builders Club, Wrestling Practice, and our 8th grade girls basketball team taking on the Goddard Vikings here.  We wrap up our fun filled day with band concerts- 6th grade plays at 6 and 7th grade's White Band plays at 7.

Welcome to a wonderfully quiet Wednesday here at Powell!  We have a late start once again, so a slower start to the day, and no scheduled after school events or activities.  Please remember that means there is no late run bus today, so get to those buses on time right after school!

It's Tuesday, the 24th, and here's what's happening at Powell... our 8th grade girls basketball team starts their season by heading to Newton for their games- go Pumas! Back at Powell, wrestling practices, Chess and Homework Clubs meet and tonight our Black and Maroon bands have concerts, at 6 and 7 pm respectively.

Welcome back from your long weekend!  We hope you enjoyed a few extra days of rest and relaxation and are ready for 2nd quarter.  Students, particularly 6th grade students, please make sure you have printed your 2nd quarter schedule and are ready to follow it starting this morning. After school today both 7th and 8th grade girls have basketball practice, but they'll need to make some room in the gym for wrestling practice.  Outside of the gym, rocket club will be meeting. Have a magical Monday!

It's the last day of our short week- whoo hoo! After an action-packed Tuesday we move to a slower pace here today... with Student-led conferences happening today from 4-7:30 (doors close at 7) we have no after school activities or late run bus scheduled, so please plan accordingly.  Students should also plan on attending conferences with their parents this evening, as there are no appointments necessary, just a time for students and parents to join their teachers for conversations about the start of the school year.  Though we do have conferences Thursday morning as well, we encourage our 7th and 8th grade students to attend tonight, as many of your teachers will be chaperones on this week's D.C Trip, and as such, will not be at Thursday conferences.

It may be a short week, but it's packed full of activities, especially today.  This Tuesday we welcome Prospective Parents for a tour at 9:15 and then have an afternoon full of fun: Chess Club meets, as does Homework Club and Jazz Band, while both 7th grade basketball and wrestling have practice.  This evening, we host an informational meeting about Destination Imagination. Can you imagine a better place to be than Powell today?!

Happy Monday!  It's especially happy since it's the first day of a 3 day week- no school this Thursday or Friday.  After school today both 7th and 8th grade girls basketball have practice, while Wrestling starts and Rocket Club meets.  Have a magnificent Monday!

Jump for joy, it's Thursday!  Jump Rope Club meets this morning- students from all grade levels are welcome to join!  After school, 6th grade track comes to an end with their Mock Meet.  7th grade basketball practices, and both Art Club and Chess Club meet.  Have a great day!

It's another late start Wednesday, unless you are a newly elected Student Council representative... if so, please be here for the first meeting of the year at 8:30 this morning.  All other students, see you at 8:55! After school 8th grade girls basketball starts and MathCounts meets.  Later tonight, 8th grade students heading to Washington DC need to join us from 6-8 for a mandatory pre-trip meeting.

It's a busy Tuesday at Powell, starting bright and early with Tuesday Morning Fitness Club, then moving on to our after school activities: 6th grade track practice, 8th grade track at the district meet (Go Pumas!), 7th grade girls basketball, Jazz Band and Homework Club.  Wow, what a day!

Good Monday Morning, Pumas! Some of our 7th graders are sad about the snow today, as their field trip to Dinosaur Ridge has been cancelled.  After school, Rocket Club meets and 8th grade track has their final practice of the season.  Warm wishes!

This Thursday, October 5th begins with our rescheduled 8th grade Honor Roll assembly- parents and guardians of our 8th grade honorees are invited to join us from 8-9 am this morning in the cafeteria.  After school 8th grade track practices, and both Art Club and Chess Club meet.  This evening we honor more of our 8th graders, as the NJHS Induction Ceremony takes place in the cafeteria from 6-7 pm.  Have an honorable Thursday!

Roar, today's the day to run like a Puma!  Join us for the 20th Annual Puma Prowl this afternoon... the Prowl is an all school (and family!) fun run taking place from 3-4 pm, with a fun prize giveaway for student participants at the end of the race.  For those not inclined to run, MathCounts is meeting as well.

Hooray for Tuesday!  To stay warm this afternoon 6th grade track practices and 8th grade track heads to Euclid for their final meet of the season.  Homework Club and Jazz Band also meet after school. It's a great day to be a Puma!
