It's the final Friday (and final day in general) of the 17-18 school year.  We have celebrations galore here today, as we host a fun filled day for our students.  We appreciate each and every one of you- you all make it a great day to be a Puma!  Take care this summer... 8th graders, good luck in high school!  6th and 7th graders, we can't wait to see you all in August!

What a Thursday we have in store!  Today's schedule is Blocks 1-7, then CORE Plus.  6th and 7th graders will be cleaning out lockers during CORE, while our 8th graders prepare for their Continuation ceremony.  The ceremony takes place at 5:30 this evening (doors open at 4:30) and is a ticketed event, so make sure you have those tickets in hand!  Jazz Band members: rehearsal from 3-4 today in preparation for the ceremony.  Congrats to our 8th grade class!

Wednesday, May 23rd, 2018

Sleep in one last time this week, as it's the last late start Wednesday!  We turn in our Chromebooks this morning in CORE Plus, so EVERYONE needs to have their charged Chromebook AND charger this morning for turn in.  Following CORE Plus are Blocks 1-7.  Again, no activities after school and no late bus.  Have a wonderful Wednesday!

It's an exciting Tuesday here at Powell as we start in CORE Plus today in order to distribute Yearbooks!  After yearbook distribution we move on to Blocks 1-7.  After school, Chess Club meets and Jazz Band stays to rehearse but please make pickup arrangements as there is NO late run bus after band.  Students- please remember to bring your charged  Chromebooks AND chargers to school tomorrow for Chromebook turn in.  Have a terrific last Tuesday!

Today is Thursday, May 17th, and this afternoon Homework Club will meet for the last time this school year- one last chance to catch up on your missing and due assignments!  This is also your last chance to take the late bus home, as it's the last day for late pickup.  Tonight, it's the last night of concerts for the year: 6th grade band at 6 pm and our 7th grade Band at 7 pm.  Have a tremendous Thursday!

Wednesday, May 16th, 2018

What a Wednesday we have here at Powell!  Plan on ordering hot lunch today everybody- our food service department is offering a RIPS Juice Slush with every hot lunch purchase; what a nice way to cool off!  After your slush, the following clubs meet: Jazz Band, XC and Magic the Gathering.  Jazz Band members need to be back at school tonight for their concert at 6 pm, followed by our 7th/8th Grade Band at 6:45 pm, then our 8th Grade Band at 7:30.

Tuesday, May 15th, 2018

Today is Tuesday, and the musical week continues.  Before concerts commence, we have a few clubs: Homework, Chess and Jazz Band.  Concerts begin at 6:15 tonight, with 6th grade guitar, and 8th grade guitar playing at 7:15.  These are the final concerts under the direction of Marilyn Bailey, who is retiring this year.  Come see her off in style!

Good morning!  We're back for another Monday here, the second to last one ;) This afternoon we have Cross Country (XC) Club.  This evening we have 2 concerts: 6th grade Choir at 6 pm and Orchestra at 7 pm.  Have a musical Monday!

2 weeks to go!  It's Friday, May 11th, and we're creeping closer to the end of the school year.  Tomorrow morning runners with the Puma Cross Country Club could be heading out to the Highline Canal races- let's hope for no rain!  Have a fantastic Friday and a wondrous weekend!

This Wednesday we have our typical late start, and some of our typical clubs: Magic the Gathering and Cross Country.  This Wednesday evening we have a less typical activity- our 7th and 8th grade choir concerts take place from 7-8 pm.

Happy Friday Eve!  This Thursday we have Homework Club from 3-4, AND our Hoops for Heart Basketball Tournament from 3-5:30.  Come support our teams as they support a good cause- the American Heart Association.  Concessions will be available for purchase.

Welcome back from your long weekend!  We hope you enjoyed a little extra time off... we're back in business here though with Homework Club, Jazz Band, Cross Country Club and a few unique opportunities: our 6th graders coming to us next year from out of district can take the 6th grade math assessment this afternoon at 3:30, and our current 7th and 8th graders are welcome to join AHS for a Color Guard Clinic in our cafeteria at 4.  Happy Tuesday!
